Authentic Leadership for Women
(ALW) is designed to introduce participants to new and diverse
colleagues who will share this learning experience. It serves
the needs for professional, managerial and executive women
from business and not-for-profits. It also attracts women
who are current or future community leaders who want to excel
in their role and enhance their impact. Our outreach for ALW
is to women from all industries and disciplines, of all ages,
backgrounds, religions and ethnicities. This program, because
of its focus on universal leadership issues for women, will
appeal equally to corporate executives emerging women leaders,
and entrepreneurial business owners.

Registrants will be limited to
24 participants per program. This size is large enough to
offer plenty of new people with whom you can exchange ideas
and share best practices. At the same time, it is small enough
to have the feel of a somewhat intimate gathering, where everyone
can get to know one another and build important and supportive
relationships. There will be only 8 seats each reserved for
business, not-for-profit, and entrepreneurial participants,
so be sure to register early!

The program includes three (3) full
days of professional development and experiential learning,
the Harrison Assessment leadership assessment tool, all program
materials and books, 2 nights of lodging (Wednesday and Thursday),
8 healthy meals, coach on call, and 3 follow-up group tele-coaching
sessions.

There will be free group coaching by
tele-conference for 2 months following the program. As other
programs and services are offered by Pathfinders CTS, Inc.
for personal and professional development, ALW alumnae will
be offered special reduced rates. We also coordinate periodic
networking / social gatherings to continue the relationships
and enjoy each other’s positive energy, support, and
sharing of best practices.

Absolutely. While this program will be full of exciting
learning experiences, we don’t want you to go back to
home and work feeling exhausted! In fact, one of our goals
is to have you learn and practice personal energy management.
Each day will offer time before breakfast, after lunch, and
before dinner to walk, read, relax, meditate or just spend
time with new acquaintances.
Out-of-towners: plan to stay and spend the weekend to relax
and explore the lovely Skaneateles
Lake area. There is so much to do, and September is simply
breath-taking in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York
. If Stella Maris is full with other weekend groups, there
are alternative accommodations in the area. We would be happy
to assist you with information.

This retreat can be a great exercise
in downshifting. Do, however, bring a variety of clothes to
accommodate both warm and cool days: include sweater, and
light rain gear. Remember to bring sneakers or a comfortable
pair of walking shoes. There is a washer and dryer on site
if you need them. You will need to bring your own travel
alarm clock. You may also want to bring a journal or diary
to record thoughts, ideas, reflections, etc. while you are
in this experience.
We discourage bringing fine jewelry or other items of value.
Even though there is an honor system and respect for others
practiced and promoted by Stella Maris and Pathfinders CTS,
Inc., there are no locks on the dormitory doors, and we cannot
guarantee nor be responsible for the protection of your valuables.
Please keep them at home.

The only computers on site at Stella Maris are those used
in the offices of the administrative staff. Remember that
this is a retreat center that offers its space for non-denominational
spiritual and secular conferences and gatherings. This week
is a good opportunity for participants to "unplug"
for several days, delegate their "business as usual"
to others, and disconnect from the demands that could distract
from or diminish the positive impact of this unique program.
To do so will improve your energy, creativity, outlook, and
productivity upon return to your home and work routines.

Cell phones may not be utilized in the main building or on
the grounds. We ask that you limit the use of your cell phone
to urgent situations only, or to stay in touch with your family
as needed. If you must use your cell phone for outgoing calls,
please do so in the privacy of your room with the door closed,
or out in the parking lot so as to respect the preferences
of others.
